Resources

The Reinert Center produces and curates web-based resources to for just-in-time teaching support for SLU educators. Some resources are developed by Reinert Center staff and SLU faculty members. Others are curated from the vast array of pedagogical resources freely available online and synthesized into organized, easy-to-use references.

In general, our pedagogical resources are aimed at those teaching undergraduate- and graduate-level courses and are grouped loosely into the following categories:

  • Resources for Teaching at Saint Louis University: Resources specifically focused on the needs of those new to teaching at the University, including information about University-recommended syllabus statements. Click here to access resources on Teaching at SLU.
  • Brief Resource Guides: One-to-two page distillations of effective practices and research on targeted topics. These guides are published in PDF format to facilitate easy downloading and sharing.  Click here to see the available Resource Guides.
  • Before/After Course Materials: Sample course materials as they appear before and after substantive revisions. They are intended to help instructors see examples of pedagogical learning in action. Click here to see available Before/After Course Materials.
  • In-Depth Resource Pages on Broad Topics: These pages provide more in-depth consideration of and/or curate multiple resources on a given topic. Examples include the pages on Ignatian Pedagogy and on Inclusive Teaching. To learn more, click on the topic of interest in the left-hand navigation menu under Resources.
  • Multimedia Resources: Short podcasts, interviews, and keynote addresses created as part of a Reinert Center event or series and posted with permission. Click here to see available multimedia resources.
  • Teaching Conferences: A short list of common, non-discipline-specific national conferences focusing on pedagogy. Click here for a list.
  • A Guide for Beginning Teachers: An e-book providing foundational information for those new to university-level teaching. Click here to access the e-book.
