Become an American Studies Graduate Student
Apply online to the American Studies graduate program through the College of Arts and Sciences. The deadline for applications is January 15th.
Applicants are requested to submit a writing sample of approximately 30 pages.
We strongly recommend that applicants to American Studies also complete the Personal Potential Index as another means for us to make an admission decision. The PPI asks recommenders to evaluate non-cognitive traits that research indicates may contribute to success in graduate programs. The link for the PPS is www.ets.org/ppi/.
To receive specific information about the department, please call us at 314.977.2911 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to graduate assistantships, the university awards two fellowships, the Diversity Fellowship and the Presidential Fellowship. Each fellowship award carries a monthly stipend, 21 hours of tuition scholarship (3 for Summer, 9 for Fall, 9 for Spring) and health insurance for the length of the award. To be nominated for one of these by the American Studies department, all material must be in by early February.
