Active Minds is a student led organization dedicated to getting rid of the stigma that comes along with mental illness. The group focuses on "changing the conversation on mental health" on college campuses around the United States.
At some point in their college career, more than half of college students will face the difficulty of dealing with issues such as depression or anxiety, but that does not mean that they will actively seek help for it.
Active Minds wants students to feel comfortable and safe when talking about mental health, whether with professionals or other students.
For too long, mental health has been an issue people tried to silence. Active Minds hopes to bring the importance of mental health awareness to the forefront of students' minds.
