Daria Sokic-Lazic is responsible for developing the General Chemistry laboratory curriculum and hiring, training and supervising the undergraduate as well as the graduate assistants involved in teaching, prepping and grading of labs.  In addition, she is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of laboratory chemicals and equipment.

The goal of freshman level lab it to provide students with the introduction of basic experimental techniques by reinforcing the concepts learned in the General Chemistry Lecture. Two very important aspects of General Chemistry Laboratory are the education/enforcement of safety regulations to provide a safe laboratory environment and laboratory documentation skills as a preparation for upper division laboratories.  In addition to overseeing the different aspects of General Chemistry laboratories, Daria Sokic-Lazic also teaches Basic Chemistry (CHEM101).

Aside from her direct teaching/supervising responsibilities at Saint Louis University, Daria Sokic-Lazic is the co-panelist chair for EYH (Expanding Your Horizons) as well as the co-director for MJAS District VII (Missouri Junior Academy of Science).
