Communication Advisory Board

The advisory board consists of professionals in a wide range of communication careers, and its primary purposes are to offer insight into the essential skills the Department of Communication should teach its students and to make suggestions about how the department can improve its curriculum to reflect the changing communication industries.

The board is made up of a mix of SLU alumni and community members. Members must live in the St. Louis area and commit to attending the board's twice-annual meetings. Members serve either a two- or three-year term, which is renewable once for a maximum of six years.

Advisory Board Application

We ask that applicants:

  • Are SLU alumni OR St. Louis community members
  • Reside in the St. Louis area
  • Are able to attend board meetings, which are held twice each year (generally in October and April)
  • Work/volunteer in one of the many communication-related fields, including media, public relations, advertising, human resources, development, fundraising, event planning, corporate communications, marketing, etc.
