The Department of Communication is pleased to invite nominations for two inaugural alumni awards: the Young Alumni Award and the Distinguished Alumni Award. The deadline for nominations is April 1.

The awards will recognize outstanding graduates who were majors, minors or graduate students in our program. Qualifications for each award are as follows:

Distinguished Alumni Award

  • SLU graduate whose major or minor was Communication, or received a master's degree from the department
  • Individual who has made exemplary contributions to his/her profession and who has shown a commitment to community service that reflects the Jesuit tradition
  • Age 36 or older

Young Alumni Award

  • SLU graduate whose major or minor was Communication, or received a master's degree from the department
  • Age 35 or younger
  • Individual who has achieved significant professional accomplishments and honors the Jesuit spirit of serving others

The department's Advisory Board, along with faculty, will select the award winners. Current board members are not eligible for the awards. Awards will be presented at the department's annual banquet honoring graduates in May.

Nominations are due by April 1 each year for consideration for the May awards ceremony. Nominations are welcome from the public, as are self-nominations.
