Recipient of the College of Arts and Sciences' 2011 Undergraduate Mentoring Award (awarded Spring 2012). Received the 2001 Outstanding Woman Student Award from Northern Illinois University and in 2007 was recognized for excellence in teaching by the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication and the Graduate Professional Student Association at Arizona State University.

Interests:
The rhetorical construction of organizational identities, especially as it pertains to U.S. military personnel and their families.
