Mission Statement:

Saint Louis University's Speech-Hearing-Language Clinic is committed to meeting the unique needs of all individuals in the St. Louis metropolitan and surrounding areas that are experiencing communication difficulties in a cost effective manner. We promote family education and involvement in the therapeutic process. The clinic provides a quality clinical training program that positions students to excel among future speech-language-hearing professionals. The clinic incorporates a strategic process for ongoing evaluation and assessment of its programs and services to comply with the evolving needs of the community.


Provide quality evidenced based clinical services across the lifespan of individuals with speech, language and or hearing problems as a training component of the department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The educational framework aligns academic preparation and clinical practice in student development. 


  • Provide the highest quality clinical education for students enrolled in the Master of Arts Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
  • Provide supervised opportunities for students to develop the level of diagnostic and clinical competencies required by the American Speech- Language- Hearing Association.
  • Contribute to the generation of significant research that will improve our understanding and treatment of communication disorders.

Saint Louis University's Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is one of the Paul C. Reinert, S.J. Clinics for Child and Family Development. The Clinic is non-profit and has served Saint Louis University and St. Louis Metropolitan community for more than 40 years. It is located on the campus of Saint Louis University in the department of Communication Sciences & Disorders in McGannon Hall. The clinic offers a full range of services which include comprehensive evaluations and treatment across a broad scope of communication disorders. Areas addressed, but not limited to, include the following:

  • Articulation/Phonology
  • Fluency/Stuttering
  • Voice
  • Social Language associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Language and Literacy
  • Receptive Language associated with developmental or acquired conditions
  • Pronouncing Standard English
  • Hearing Aid evaluations/interventions
  • Speech and Language Consultations

Service Providers:

One of the educational objectives of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is to prepare students for hands-on therapeutic techniques through supervised learning experiences. Graduate students working toward a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology may provide clinical services under the supervision of certified, licensed Speech-Language Pathologists or Audiologists, who are faculty members at the University. Undergraduate students who have met the eligibility requirements are allowed to participate in Clinical Practicum.

The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic provides reduced fee services in order to serve a wide range of clientele, including those who are otherwise unable to access these services. In addition, we accept most forms of health insurance. Please contact us at (314) 977-3365 to verify your coverage.

Hours of Operation:

The clinic is available for services Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
