International Adoption Clinic

The Saint Louis University (SLU) International Adoption Clinic (IAC) has been in operation since September 2005. Founded by Deborah Hwa-Froelich, Ph.D., Professor in the Communication Sciences and Disorders department, the clinic is directed by Angela Adrian, Speech-Language Pathology Clinic Coordinator for the SLU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic. The IAC is a specialized clinical program for children adopted internationally. Our mission is to provide evidence-based developmental services to families and their adopted children. Services include assessments and intervention in:

  • Speech, language, literacy, and social communication
  • Social-emotional development
  • Play behaviors
  • Hearing
