Saint Louis University's Speech Language Hearing Clinic addresses the ever growing and critical needs of students to excel academically and socially in their spoken and written communication skills while having fun as they are learning. Two camps are offered each summer to provide the best of both worlds in meeting speech and literacy enrichment needs of children. Camp attendees are afforded the opportunity to receive indicidualized instruction and interactive small group participation to improve their speaking and writing skills.
Speech Summer Camp - An intensive 2 week program developed specifically for 3-6 year old children diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, phonological disorders, and other speech disorders. All participants receive small group and large group therapy that incorporates best practices in treatment and a variety of supports to assist the child in improving overall speech intelligibility.
The Power of Words - Designed for children 9-12 years of age to help facilitate reading comprehension skills, enhance note taking and organization skills, and challenge individuals to strengthen both expressive and written skills. The camp is individualized, intestive and creative. Clients are exposed to a variety of genres including: fiction, non fiction and personal narratives.
