The St. Louis Gypsy Jazz Festival kicks off with an event at SLU on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 3:30 PM. Festival organizer and guitarist Ben Wood along with guest violin/mandolin player Jason Anick (Berklee College of Music) will talk about Roma culture, the origins and development of Gypsy Jazz, and, of course, perform music by gypsy jazz legend Django Reinhardt.

One of the youngest instructors at Boston's Berklee College of Music, Jason Anick is considered "a rising star in the world of jazz violin and mandolin" (Downbeat Magazine).
