Music of Arthur Somervell and Maude Valery White
Narrative: My expertise and duties at SLU are in three areas: (1) choral director, (2) voice teacher and (3) tenor soloist. The Mastersingers specialize in madrigals, the Concert Choir performs a major oratorio each year. Voice majors generally study with me and many currently sing in the St. Louis Symphony Chorus and the American Kantorei. I have sung as tenor soloist in thirty-one performances with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, three different operas with the St. Louis Opera many oratorios in Germany and with the American Kantorei. Currently I am arranging a series of concerts on the music of Arthur Somervell (1863-1937) my area of research.
