- Programs of Study
Students majoring in Theatre have the opportunity to apply for scholarships toward tuition costs. Students pursuing all disciplines of Theatre - acting, costume design, set design, etc. - may apply for the Theatre Talent Scholarship. In addition to completing an application, interested students must audition, present a portfolio and/or interview for the award.
Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis, so students must reapply each year. Students must also maintain several requirements to keep their scholarship:
- Major in Theatre
- Achieve a grade of "B" in all Theatre coursework
- Participate in all Department productions
Students auditioning for the scholarship should prepare two contrasting monologues (comic/dramatic). Monologues should be memorized and not exceed a total audition time of four minutes. Students may sing during their audition, but no accompanist will be provided (CD player/iPod dock available).
Students unable to audition/interview on campus may submit a videotaped/digital audition. The Theatre Program has partnered with Get Accept'd for the submission of auditions and portfolio reviews. To submit your digital audition or portfolio review, please click on the following link: Digital Audition
Students who have auditioned/interviewed at a State or International Thespian Conference need not re-audition/interview. However, a Theatre Scholarship application is required to be considered for a Scholarship.
