Students majoring in Theatre have the opportunity to apply for scholarships toward tuition costs. Students pursuing all disciplines of Theatre - acting, costume design, set design, etc. - may apply for the Theatre Talent Scholarship. In addition to completing an application, interested students must audition, present a portfolio and/or interview for the award.
Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis, so students must reapply each year. Students must also maintain several requirements to keep their scholarship:
- Major in Theatre
- Achieve a grade of "B" in all Theatre coursework
- Participate in all Department productions
Students auditioning for the scholarship should prepare two contrasting monologues (comic/dramatic). Monologues should be memorized and not exceed a total audition time of four minutes. Students may sing during their audition, but no accompanist will be provided (CD player/iPod dock available). Students unable to audition on campus may submit a videotaped audition.
