Language Resource Center

The LRC serves Saint Louis University students, instructors and teaching assistants. The principal objective of this facility is to enrich SLU students' foreign language learning experience by providing an environment for immersion and practice.

The Language Resource Center (LRC), is an academic support facility that provides an array of teaching tools and multimedia resources to students and instructors of foreign languages.

The LRC is an integral component of the foreign language curriculum at Saint Louis University. All lower division lab sections are scheduled in this facility.

The LRC consists of three computer classrooms and one central support office located in Morrissey Hall 3200. All areas of the LRC are equipped with interactive multimedia language learning software, headsets with high quality headphones and microphones, and an array of auxiliary media devices. In addition, the LRC provides: 

  • international live satellite and IP-based television for broadcasts in French, Spanish, Italian, & German. Other languages are available through on-site Roku devices. 

  • open computer lab access in MOR 3200 and free printing for documents pertaining to classes taught in the Department of Languages, Literatures, & Cultures.

  • placement testing and exams for program proficiency requirements

  • language tutoring

  • media-equipped private study area (reservations)

  • comprehensive language learning software including proofing tools for French, Spanish, German and Russian

  • a diverse collection of over 2000 films

  • multistandard VHS and DVD players which support all worldwide video formats, and some conversion services

  • portable instructional media available for professors, adjuncts and teaching assistants

  • staffed service desk area helps faculty and students to coordinate independent labs.

  • comprehensive language reference library

  • video room and equipment for student presentations. (reservations)
