Consulting and Applied Research Projects
The faculty frequently acquire consulting and applied research contracts with organizations in the St. Louis area. These contracts cover a wide range of activities, including training, organizational assessment, program evaluation, research on the effectiveness of training, consumer satisfaction studies, evaluation of 360 degree feedback systems, and the like. Many of the projects are suitable for students to acquire professional experience through involvement in some part of the project. These consulting and applied research projects are a rich source of practica for students.
The Center for the Application of Behavioral Science is the Department of Psychology's own consulting organization. Through CABS, our faculty direct applied research projects with students serving as the consultants for many organizations. Through CABS, students are able to put their skills in research methods, statistics, and organizational psychology to work by helping organizations to solve their problems (please see the faculty page for non-applied research).
