Christina LaFon is a
senior at SLU studying
Sociology and Communication.
Her critical paper on
intersectionality in the
movie, "Paris Is Burning",
won first prize at the Alvin
Gouldner essay competition.

She presented her work at
the Missouri Sociological
Association's 2013
conference and her paper
will be published in the
Missouri Electronic
Journal of Sociology. After
graduating, Christina plans
to pursue graduate work in
critical theory and social
justice.
