SLUCare dermatologists are committed to leadership in clinical research programs. As the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine, our staff regularly conducts clinical trials of new medicine and technologies.

Pemphigus vulgaris study:

SLUCare Dermatology is now seeking patients 18-75 years of age who have had a confirmed diagnosis of pemphigus vulgaris (PV) within the past 24 months. Call (314) 256-3439 or email kurtaao@slu.edu for more information.

Chin filler study:

SLUCare Dermatology is also conducting a study of an investigational filler that adds chin volume to improve the appearance of the chin. Participants must be age 22 or older, in good general health and not pregnant. Call (314) 256-3439 or email kurtaao@slu.edu for more information. 

Psoriasis study for children 2-11:

We are looking for children who are at least 2 to 11 years of age with psoriasis to participate in an 8-week research study of an investigational medication for psoriasis.

Qualified participants will receive:

  • Study-related medical evaluations by a dermatologist
  • Study-related medications
  • Compensation for time and travel

Psoriasis study for children 6-11:

SLUCare physicians at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital are conducting a clinical research study of children with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. The CADMUS Jr. clinical research study will examine the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication in children with this skin condition.

The study will enroll patients who:

  • Are 6 to 11 years of age
  • Have a diagnosis of plaque psoriasis for at least 6 months

Additional criteria apply and will be assessed at the screening visit.

Frown lines study:

The board-certified dermatologists at Saint Louis University are currently seeking men and women age 18 and older to participate in a clinical research study utilizing an investigational product for frown lines between the eyebrows.

Qualified participants will receive:

  • Examination by a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist
  • All study-related products and examination at no cost
  • Compensation for travel

Surgical scar study:

If you are 18 years old or older and in general good health, you may be eligible to participate in a clinical trial to improve the appearance of head and neck surgical scars using an FDA-approved cosmetic laser.

Face It acne research study:

This study tests an investigational topical product to boost the effects of laser treatment for facial acne.

Research study volunteers must meet the following criteria:

  • Be 12 years of age or older
  • Have at least 25 pimples across the face
  • Other criteria may apply

Pediatric acne vulgaris study (ages 9-11):

Is your child suffering from pediatric acne? Consider participation in the Break Away Clinical Research Study, evaluating the investigational use of a topical study medication for children with symptoms of acne vulgaris.

To qualify, your child must meet the following criteria:

  • Be between 9-11 years old
  • Be in good general health
  • Must have 20-100 pimples on his or her face

Study participants will receive study-related exams, lab tests and investigational study medication at no cost. Compensation for time and travel may be available.
