Congratulations to the 2013-2014 Horvath Memorial Scholarship Winner
Kelsey Cook, a MOT-II student in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, was named the winner of the 2013-2014 Florian and Walburga Horvath Memorial Scholarship. Throughout her time at SLU, Cook has been an exceptional student, being named to the Dean’s List every semester and has maintained a 3.99 cumulative GPA. She has been inducted into the Alpha Eta Society and completed the SLU Honors Program as part of her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Science.
Cook has been an Occupational Therapy course assistant; research assistant; class historian; tutor for biology, psychology, anatomy and physiology; and events coordinator and summer camp employee working with students with disabilities. She has also been a board member for the American Red Cross, participated in the community G.I.V.E. Program and the P.E. Leadership Program. She volunteers at Kingdom House, St. Elizabeth’s Adult Day Care, Saint Louis University’s Campus Kitchens Project, Kids Enjoy Exercise Now and is active in Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity.
Upon graduation, Cook would like to work at an inpatient facility with adolescents and adults who have experienced traumatic injuries including spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries and strokes.
