Ethel Frese

It is with great excitement that we announce that Associate Professor in the Program in Physical Therapy Ethel Frese,DPT, received the prestigious Linda Crane Memorial Lecture Award from the Cardiovascular Pulmonary Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.


Dr. Frese has been dedicated to the profession of physical therapy both as a clinician and an educator. In addition to bringing her professional experience to the classroom since 1979, Dr. Frese has offered her professional service to many organizations. She was the former President and Treasurer of the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Section of the American Physical Therapy Association. In her words, "I am very honored as well as humbled to have been chosen to receive this award. No award is earned in isolation. I have been privileged to work with gifted colleagues who have taught me much and helped me grow professionally over the years of my career."

The purpose of this award is to acknowledge an individual who has made outstanding and enduring contributions to the practice of physical therapy as exemplified in the professional career of Dr. Linda Crane. Dr. Crane demonstrated her dedication to the profession of physical therapy in a multitude of ways. Apart from filling distinguished roles for the Cardiopulmonary Section, Dr. Crane was a devoted educator as well, having served on the faculties of University of Connecticut, University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of New England and the University of Miami. Dr. Crane's wake in the world of physical therapy still ripples on today.
