Raintree School, where Brown is cooking, is a private kindergarten and pre-school that is building a new facility in Town & Country, which will become Missouri's only Forest School. A Forest School is a type of outdoor education that introduces young minds to the outdoors to build independence and self-esteem.
As the only school-based green kitchen in St. Louis, Raintree and Chef Katie buy produce from local growers, serve in-season fruits and vegetables, grow their own produce, choose organically raised meat and produce when possible and support sustainable agriculture that does not harm the environment.
