PA Students Open the Doors to New HRC Extension Clinic

Saint Louis University Physician Assistant students

Students in the Saint Louis University Physician Assistant Program will open the doors to the new Health Resource Center Extension Clinic on Tuesday April 22, 2014. The Tuesday night clinic is an extension of the currently established Saturday morning HRC clinic that students of the SLU School of Medicine have run for more than 20 years. The student-operated clinic utilizes SLUCare physicians and provides a safe educational environment for students and a high-quality health center for patients. Both HRC clinics provide free health care for the underserved and include services such as physical exams, vision screening, vaccinations, labs, nutritional counseling, physical therapy and social services.

The mission of the HRC clinic is to serve the needs of the community and to educate patients. The goals of the PA students are to provide temporary primary care services for the uninsured and to help meet the needs of the increasing number of patients. This open door clinic would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of the HRC volunteers and the generous donations and support of the SLU community.

The Health Resource Center auction is a major fundraiser for the HRC clinics and will be held on April 12 from 6:00-9:00pm. All proceeds from the auction go directly to support the HRC. If you're interested in making a monetary donation to the HRC or contributing an item to the auction such as tickets to sporting events, handmade goods or other items please contact Peony Khoo at
