PA's Werner Selected as Editorial Board Member for The Soy Connection
Christine Werner, Ph.D., R.D., PA-C, Associate Professor of Physician Assistant (PA) Education, has been selected as an editorial board member for The Soy Connection health and nutrition newsletter sponsored by the United Soybean Board.
As part of the editorial board, Dr. Werner will serve as the PA/RD reviewer for articles submitted for publication to The Soy Connection health and nutrition newsletter and participate in advocacy activities about the role of soy in health and nutrition. This newsletter has been in circulation for 22 years now and provides credible research-based information to healthcare professionals across the USA. It reaches a wide audience with a circulation of 250,000 copies per issue, and is published four times each year. The Soy Connection health and nutrition newsletter offers continuing professional education credits for Registered Dietitians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners. The United Soybean Board is a commodity checkoff program made up of 68 farmer-directors from across the United States. The USB oversees the investments of the soy checkoff to maximize profit opportunities for all U.S. soybean farmers. The checkoff is a portion of a soybean farmers product revenue that is given to an organization, in this case the United Soybean Board, to fund research and promotion efforts. The research is typically invested in the areas of animal utilization, human utilization, industrial utilization, industry relations, market access and supply.
