Thank you to everyone who participated in the spring service project for the Alpha Eta Society, the national honor society for allied health professionals. The Bi-State Pet Food Pantry received more than 1,150 lbs of dry dog food.
During the final week for donation, a challenge between each department was held, with the Physician Assistant Department winning with more than 350lbs donated.
The Bi-State Pet Food Pantry, a 501(c)3 non-profit, is a St. Louis-based volunteer organization committed to keeping companion animals with their families during financially difficult times by providing pet food assistance. They strive to reduce the number of abandoned and unwanted pets in shelters and on the streets by providing nutritious pet food, as well as encouraging spay/neuter. Each month the Pantry distributes on average 12,000 pounds of pet food, treats and litter to over 170 families. Approximately 550 dogs and cats are helped each month. Their greatest need is dry dog or cat food.
