B.S. in Investigative & Medical Sciences
Core Curriculum Requirements
Students majoring in either clinical laboratory science (CLS) or investigative and medical sciences (IMS) must complete the core curriculum requirements of the allied health majors at the College of Health Sciences, excluding the Anatomy and History requirements (a social science elective is substituted for the History requirement).
B.S. in IMS Curriculum Requirements
The Investigative and Medical Sciences program is designed to meet the needs of students considering a wide variety of career paths, including but not limited to careers related to medicine, research, and forensics.
Many of these paths require course work beyond the undergraduate level. Therefore, the curriculum offers a strong foundation in both basic and medical sciences to prepare the student for both entry-level employment and advanced studies in the sciences.
In addtion, the curriculum provides flexibility with a minimum of 21 credit hours in an area of concentration chosen by the student to match his/her professional goals. These hours may be applied to a minor, certificate program, or course sequence that complements the student’s talents or interests.
