The Ph.D. program builds on the M.S. degree curriculum with additional course work focused on the research area. The Ph.D. in Engineering requires a total of 60 credits of course work beyond the B.S. degree. Ph.D. students are evaluated in three formal examinations.

Admission to the program will include consideration of the following:
*GRE score requirements may be waived for those students who have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or who have three or more years of relevant industry experience.
Each graduate student prepares a Program of Study that must be approved by their faculty advisor, the department chair, and the director of graduate programs. This Program of Study is developed within the context of the student's background and career goals, allowing the student to customize their graduate program to suit their professional goals. | Degree Plan
Before action can be taken on the assistantship application, the applicant must be regularly admitted to a graduate degree program.

Graduate students receive support from graduate faculty, and work closely with Parks College professors collaborating on research, writing publications, developing conference presentations and engaging in supportive intellectual exchange. This individual mentoring and faculty collaboration prepares students to excel in the aviation industry and develops professional relationships that last a lifetime.
