ERMC Organization Chart

The division of enrollment and retention management communication (ERMC) supports the University's Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) goals for increasing enrollments in targeted student populations and high-capacity academic programs.

ERMC assists academic departments in developing recruitment and retention communication strategies, plans, materials and displays. We currently support the communication efforts for the SEM plan; summer studies, pre-college and access programs; international initiatives; military and veteran initiatives; and high capacity and assigned academic degree programs.


Mission

Through integrated and data-driven communication projects, we collaborate with targeted University departments to create and develop a wide range of compelling, strategic recruitment and retention solutions to assist in achieving their desired student enrollment profile.

Vision

We bring expertise from the fields of writing, design, web development and media to provide service and solutions that are of the highest quality. We aspire to be progressive leaders in the field of higher education enrollment management and strive to create strategic communications for targeted academic units and initiatives within Saint Louis University.

About Debra Williams

Director of Enrollment and Retention Management Communication

Debra joined the division of enrollment and retention management in March 2012. In addition to her role as director of ERMC, she also chairs Saint Louis University’s academic marketing and enrollment management communication committee.

Before joining Saint Louis University, Debra was director of admissions and marketing at Washington University’s Olin Business School. From 2002 to 2012, she was responsible for the daily operation of the admissions office, as well as leading the recruitment team and marketing initiatives. Debra has more than 15 years of experience in higher education and her areas of expertise include strategic communication and recruitment management.

Debra received her undergraduate degree in mass communication from Southeast Missouri State University, with post-baccalaureate work in American Culture Studies. Debra hopes to complete her studies and earn her Master of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2014. In addition to her academic work, Debra has consulted corporations and other groups concerned with gender issues and maintains an active volunteer life with the Crime Victims Advocacy Center and other community organizations. At home, Debra works in her art studio and enjoys cooking, reading and travel planning.
