The Office of International Services (IS) promotes international student success and a global perspective for the SLU community. IS executes its mission through international student orientation programs, social and cultural exchange activities, immigration advising and document support, and study abroad opportunities.


The Office of International Services exists to promote the globalization efforts and mission of Saint Louis University and the Enrollment and Retention Management division. As a Jesuit, Catholic institution, Saint Louis University is committed to intercultural communication and cross-cultural understanding. The Office of International Services challenges and supports the growth of all members of the University as leaders with a global perspective.


International Services is dedicating to creating and maintaining supportive relationships with international students/scholars that will support and enhance their time at Saint Louis University and contribute to the successful completion of their work within this institution. The office is also focused on helping students build skills and knowledge they can use to form relationships when they study abroad, in order that they may grow academically and personally.

About Tim Hercules

Director of International Services

Tim Hercules joined the division of Enrollment and Retention Management in 2004. For several years, Tim served within the office of student financial services, managing counseling and outreach initiatives and providing support to families on financing an education at Saint Louis University.

Currently, Tim serves as the director of International Services. His teams support visa and immigration compliance, acculturation initiatives, study abroad, the Billiken Bridge to Success conditional admit program, and federal TRiO programs supporting students with disabilities and students from first-generation, low-income families. Tim himself was a first-generation student.

Prior to joining Saint Louis University, Tim worked for Maritz Travel Company traveling to over 40 countries and managing incentive and business meetings for Fortune 100 companies.

Tim holds a Juris Doctor and a Master of International Business from Saint Louis University and has been honored for his work at the University with a SLUStar award.
