The Office Of Pre-College and Access Programs
To support, develop and implement University directed enrichment-focused camps, workshops, and academic competitions for kindergarten through 12th-grade students and teachers. We aim to forge partnerships with industry, non-for-profit organizations, school leaders and other stakeholders to increase the number and diversity of students who are prepared and motivated to pursue STEM-based careers.
To build an awareness and affinity for Saint Louis University among kindergarten through 12th grade students. Every on-campus student visitor or academy attendee will be viewed as a future Saint Louis University student.
Pre-College and Access Programs Fast Facts
- In 2013, Saint Louis University hosted 2,500 K-12 students in more than 50 summer programs.
- Pre-College and Access Programs was awarded over $100,000 in private sponsorship and grants for programs.
- The grants and sponsorships that were awarded enabled over 50 middle school students the opportunity to attend a summer science camp at no tuition cost to the student or family.
About William Perkins
Program Director Pre-College and Access Programs
Will Perkins joined the Enrollment and Retention Management Division in April 2012. As program director of Pre-College and Access Programs, Will oversees and promotes college readiness opportunities at Saint Louis University.
Prior to that, Will was director of Kauffman Scholars, Inc. College Residential Institute at Missouri University of Science and Technology. He was also program director for Pre-College Programs and Student Diversity Programs at Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Perkins has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Elmhurst College and an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Parkland Community College.
