Recruitment Council


The Recruitment Council (RC) is to make recommendations to the SEM Executive Steering Committee on matters pertaining to student recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and other issues related to recruiting and enrolling the desired student body at SLU. The efforts of this council will focus on developing strategies that will enhance recruitment efforts at the undergraduate and graduate level, for both domestic and international students.

Meeting Schedule:
The Recruitment Council holds 90-minute meetings on the second week of each month, excluding January, June and July. A SEM data and research review presentation with Q&A session is scheduled on the third week of each month.

The co-chairs will rotate leadership of the council. The lead chair position will rotate in August of each year.

Annual Activities:
The RC serves in an advisory role to the SEM Executive Steering Committee in the following ways:

Ongoing Analyze enrollment goals and market data.
Ongoing Identify ways to actively involve faculty, students, parents, alumni and staff in the student recruitment process.
Ongoing Recommend recruitment strategies and tactics.
SEPT. Develop plans and events to encourage meaningful connections/engagements between prospective/admitted students and SLU faculty/staff by communicating with internal constituents.
OCT. Review University recruitment objectives, goals and strategies for achieving the appropriate mix of undergraduate and graduate students.
NOV. Compile and share data regarding the performance and outcomes of recruitment initiatives.
DEC. Review market data and recommend recruitment goals and strategies to SEM Executive Steering Committee.
FEB. Perform Scholarship overview and effectiveness review.
MARch Perform International recruitment overview and review.
APRil Identify and recommend initiatives to increase diversity among SLU’s student population.
MAY Receive Committee reports and Develop annual report.
JUNe Provide an annual report of the council’s activities and the University’s progress in meeting recruitment goals.
