Joao Panattoni, M.D.

Joao Panattoni, M.D., has joined the full-time faculty of Saint Louis University School
of Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Panattoni earned his
medical degree from Faculdade de Medicina de Marilia, Brazil, followed by an orthopaedic
surgery and traumatology residency at Hospital Municipal do Tatuape, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and a hand surgery fellowship at the State University of Campinas, Brazil.
He completed hand surgery and microsurgery fellowships at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute, affiliated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and the National University Hospital, Singapore. Dr. Panattoni joins SLUCare from the University of Louisville.
An attending physician at Saint Louis University Hospital and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical
Center, Dr. Panattoni has clinical expertise in reconstructive hand and microsurgery, congenital deformities
and all traumatic afflictions of the hand and wrist. In addition to patient care and teaching responsibilities,
Dr. Panattoni has research interests in hand transplant, hand arthroplasty and distal radius osteotomy.
Dr. Panattoni sees patients at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, 1465 Grand Blvd., and
