Leslie A. Oleksowicz, M.D., has joined the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine as a professor of internal medicine, director of genitourinary oncology and director of melanoma and sarcoma oncology in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology. Dr. Oleksowicz earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, followed by an internal medicine residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a hematology and oncology fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine-New York City. She joins SLUCare from the Barrett Cancer Center of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she most recently served as director of melanoma and sarcoma oncology.
Board-certified in internal medicine and oncology, Dr. Oleksowicz is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the National Cancer Institute Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP), and is on the advisory board of the National Kidney Cancer Association, which coordinates clinical trials, and the National Cancer Institute-supported cancer clinical trials cooperative group SWOG (formerly the Southwest Oncology Group).
Dr. Oleksowicz is an attending physician at Saint Louis University Hospital and has clinical expertise in management of patients with prostate cancer and other genitourinary malignancies as well as management of melanoma and sarcoma. In addition to patient care and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Oleksowicz has research interests in the use of interleukin-2 to treat cancer.
