Matthew A. Broom, M.D., has joined the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine as an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Broom earned his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency. He joins SLUCare from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine, Bethesda, Md., and the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va. Board-certified in pediatrics, Dr. Broom is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Academic Pediatric Association.

Dr. Broom is an attending physician at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center and SSM St. Mary’s Health Center, and has expertise in medical student education. In addition to patient care and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Broom has research interests in factors that impact medical student education and effective communication with patients and families to improve health care outcomes.
