Nandini Calamur, M.D., has joined the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine as an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Calamur earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, followed by postgraduate training in pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh and pediatric critical care at Northwestern University. She joins SLUCare from the Loyola University Medical Center.

Board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine, Dr. Calamur is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Calamur is an attending physician at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center and has clinical expertise in the use of noninvasive ventilation in acute respiratory insufficiency, pediatric palliative care, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), status asthmaticus, acute respiratory distress (ARDS) and traumatic brain injury. In addition to patient care and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Calamur has research interests in pediatric palliative care, ECMO, resident education and outcomes in relationship to protocol utilization.

In her spare time, Dr. Calamur enjoys spending time with family and friends, travel, literature, music and watching soccer.
