Sahibu Sultan Habeebu, M.D., Ph.D., has joined the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of pathology in the Division of Pediatric Pathology. Dr. Habeebu completed his doctoral work in medical genetics at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. He earned his medical degree from University of Lagos, Nigeria, followed by anatomic pathology residencies at Lagos University Teaching Hospital and at The Royal London Hospital, United Kingdom, and an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Kansas University Medical Center. He completed a molecular genetic pathology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and a pediatric pathology fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics, Kansas City.

Board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, Dr. Habeebu is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the College of American Pathologists, the American Medical Association and the Association for Molecular Pathology. Dr. Habeebu has interests in pediatric pathology, molecular genetic pathology, placental pathology, animal models of human disease and molecular mechanisms of disease.
