Vaccinations for both H1N1 influenza and seasonal flu are available to all SLU faculty, staff and students, and are given in one convenient visit. Because vaccinations are the first line defense against influenza, they are strongly encouraged.
FOR EMPLOYEES: Vaccines, which are free to all employees, are given in the department of employee health, weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Employee health is located on the Medical Center side of campus in the West Pavilion of Saint Louis University Hospital.
Employees who have permits to park in the Salus Center parking lot and in University parking lots and garages on the north side of campus may park in the Vista garage, Curie lot, Fleming lot, Hickory East or West garages or Wald lot.
Please call the special Employee Health Hotline – 314.577.8425 – for updates on the availability of the flu shots.
FOR STUDENTS: Flu vaccinations are available at Student Health and Counseling from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. H1N1 influenza vaccine is free and seasonal flu shots cost $20.
Students who think they have the flu should contact Student Health at (314) 977-2323 and seek treatment. They also should limit their exposure to others and not go to class or to other activities if they have flu symptoms.
Students who have influenza and live on campus will return to their residence hall rooms to recover if they can’t go home. This change in SLU’s H1N1 influenza procedure is based on medical advice, the availability of H1N1 vaccine and the current mildness and pervasiveness of H1N1 influenza.
