Senior Delta Gamma Mary Michael Daunhauer is the true example of a SLU Sorority woman. Not only is she involved with her chapter, but also with Greek life as a whole, and many other things on campus. She truly embodies her chapter's motto, "Do Good," and makes the world a better place.

In Delta Gamma, Mary Michael holds the positions of Director of Alumnae Relations, and she also serves as Greek Week Overall Co-Chair, and was the Recruitment Assistant for Panhellenic. In each of these positions, Mary Michael was able to exemplify leadership and her passion for others.

Outside of Greek Life, Mary Michael keeps very busy, with activities such as SLU Ambassadors, Oriflamme SLU 101, U101, and Campus Ministry.

Mary Michael said the reason she initially went through recruitment was because both of her parents were Greek, and she was missing the all-girls relationships she had made in high school. She thought she could find the same kind of bonds through a sorority, and she says she was absolutely right. She said, "My chapter is really a home away from home... I know I can always count on my sisters for anything I need whether it's someone to go to lunch with, a study buddy or when I just need a hug after a bad day." She has stayed in Delta Gamma because it has become a place where everyone is there for each other, and Mary Michael says it gives her hope for the future and her sisters.
