"How will this change affect me?"

While using Gateway will be as easy as using a web page, there may be a period of adjustment for some employees as they learn how to use the exciting new tools. Training opportunities will be available in many different forms, from online tutorials, to CDs, out to a very robust help feature on the front page.

For employees who currently enter data into SLU's information systems, the process will be streamlined. Training for these employees already has begun. Gateway will make it simpler to access, compare, update and analyze information.

Why make a change? Do I need to learn something new?

SLU is making this change for the good of the entire University community. For the student who wants quick access to grades. For the researcher who is writing a grant proposal. For the faculty member who is preparing class materials. And for the staff member who is developing a presentation.

All members of the University will be affected by the new Gateway system, in a very positive way. You may need to learn a few new things, but the benefits of this change will become more apparent every day.

"Can I see my records?"

Yes. Students will be able to access their grades, register for classes, read course descriptions for the next semesters all within the same information system, as they do now through WebStar. With the single log-in function, you can go directly into WebStar.

Students who have been authorized will be able to enroll online as well as make changes to their class schedules.

Can I see how much I owe?

Yes. All financial aid information, tuition balances, even the status of Billiken Bucks accounts will be accessible.
