Atlas Week 2018

The Eighteenth Annual Sam and Marilyn Fox Atlas Week program was held April 7 - 14, 2018.

The theme for the 2018 Atlas Program was "From Broken Walls, We Build Bridges: Out of Conflict Rises Communities." There were over 125 events planned for the week. The keynote speakers for the week were Fred Ochieng', M.D., a cardiovascular medicine fellow at SLU, and Milton Ochieng', M.D., of the BJC Medical Group at Progress West Hospital, who presented "Sons of Lwala: Honoring the Dreams of Our Parents." The keynote address was held 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, in the Wool Ballrooms in the Busch Student Center. A private reception with Drs. Fred and Milton Ochieng' was held immediately following the keynote address. 

Fred and Milton Ochieng's work is the subject of a documentary titled "Honoring a Father's Dream: Sons of Lwala." The film will be shown Monday, April 9 at 8:00 p.m. in Busch Student Center 251 AB.
