(Q) How much is the graduate application fee to Saint Louis University?
(A) The application fee is $55 for domestic applicants and is non-refundable.

(Q) How do I find out the status of my Graduate admission application?
(A) Check your application status by logging in with the email address and password you used to create your account when you applied. Click here to log in and check your application status.

Applicants who have submitted, but not completed, their application for admission will receive a monthly e-mail reminder with a progress update of their application. If you do not receive an e-mail within two weeks from your application, please contact Graduate Admission at

(Q) How do I qualify for an assistantship to help pay for my Graduate Education?

(A) All assistantships are awarded by the individual programs, and not through Graduate Admission. Please contact the department you are applying to for more information about available assistantships.

(Q) How can I be considered for a Graduate Fellowship?
(A) Fellowships are awarded to a newly accepted Master's or Doctoral level students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievement and potential for success. Click here for more about our Fellowship programs.

(Q) Can I apply to a Graduate program with unofficial copies of University transcripts or GRE scores?
(A) No. Your application will not be processed until OFFICIAL copies of all documents are received. Photocopies and faxes will not be accepted. If you have an exceptional or extraordinary circumstance, please communicate this to the admissions staff at Graduate Admission.

(Q) Is it okay to send supporting documents, such as letters of recommendation and transcripts, to the Graduate Admission office separate from my application?
(A) Although we encourage self-managed applications -- applicants collecting and then sending their materials together -- we will accept documents sent separately. Self-managed applications will be processed faster.

(Q) If I received my undergraduate degree from Saint Louis University. Do I still need to send these transcripts to the Graduate Admission office?
(A) Yes. You will need to contact the Registrar at 314-977-2269 to request transcripts to be sent.

(Q) Do I need to send transcripts from every college I have previously attended?
(A) Yes. We will need all transcripts from all previous universities attended.

(Q) Can I apply to more than one program?
(A) Yes. Students interested in completing concurrent degrees will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please contact both departments to determine eligibility and policies for a concurrent enrollment. There are also dual-degree programs which require prospective students to apply to both degree programs.

(Q) What are the minimum scores for the GRE to be considered?
(A) Each department has different requirement standards for graduate admission tests like the GRE General and/or Subject. Prospective students should contact the department of your interest for specific information regarding test score requirements.

(Q) How do I schedule a campus tour?
(A) Tours of the campus are arranged through Campus Visits in the Office of Admission. They can be contacted at (314) 977-2500. To meet faculty and for a tour of your department, please contact the department directly.



(Q) How much is the graduate application fee to Saint Louis University?
(A) The application fee is $65 for international applicants starting with spring 2016 admission and beyond and is non-refundable.

(Q) Who do I contact with questions about my VISA?
(A) Please contact Cathy Donahue in the Office of International Services with questions regarding your VISA.

(Q) Do I have to submit the Declaration of Finances Form before being accepted?
(A) Yes, you will need to submit the Declaration of Finances form along with your application materials to expedite the processing of your I-20 and VISA if you are accepted. Your file will not be considered complete until the Declaration of Finances form is submitted.

(Q) Does Saint Louis University participate in the International Study Candidate Assesment Process (ISCAP)?
(A) Yes. Saint Louis University has partnered with International Skill Verification Services (ISVS) to interview applicants from the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. Your participation in the ISVS International Study Candidate Assessment Process (ISCAP) will enable us to provide greater consistency in evaluations and deliver faster and more efficient response times for admissions and scholarship decisions. SLU, therefore, strongly suggests that all applicants from the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam register and complete the ISCAP. The ISCAP interview and writing assignment is conducted online. You may participate in the ISCAP using a recent laptop computer from any private place with a strong Internet connection.

The ISCAP is a guided interview-based process that requires no specific preparation. It is designed to give universities a better sense of your spoken English and ad hoc English writing skills, as well as give you the opportunity to powerfully share who you are with us. (Q) What are the minimum scores for the TOEFL to be considered for admission?
(A) You must obtain a score of 550 or higher on the paper-based TOEFL and a TWE score of at least 4.0 OR a score of 213 or higher on the computer-based TOEFL and a TWE score at least 4.0 OR a score of 80 or higher on the Internet-based TOEFL and TWE score of 4.0.
You may also submit a Cambridge IELTS with an overall band score of 6.5 or higher.

Please Note: some graduate programs may require a higher score for English proficiency. Please refer to your desired degree program for more information.

(Q) Do I need to send my TOEFL scores? (international students only)
(A) All international students are required to take the TOEFL to be considered for admission. You may send IELTS scores in place of TOEFL scores. If you have attended an American University, the TOEFL score requirement may be waived.
