Future Students -- Why SLU?
The 2009 edition of U.S.News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges" ranks SLU 80th out of the more than 260 national universities in the United States. The ranking placed SLU among the top five Jesuit universities in the country for the sixth consecutive year. U.S. News also gave high marks to the University's undergraduate engineering (No. 38) and business (No. 105) programs.
Saint Louis University's health law program is ranked No. 1 for the fifth consecutive year in U.S. News' "Best Graduate Schools 2009" issue. SLU's master of health administration program ranks No. 12, geriatrics No. 14, part-time MBA No. 16, occupational therapy No. 33, physical therapy No 41, social work No. 42, medicine No. 56, speech-language pathology No. 60, clinical psychology No. 92, law No. 95. Most SLU programs climbed in this year's rankings.
The Carnegie Foundation lists SLU as one of a handful of Catholic universities that is "research extensive." In fiscal year 2008, research funding was $63.4 million, and SLU opened the $81-million, state-of-the-art Edward A. Doisy Research Center.
