Why did you choose SLU for your graduate degree?
Department faculty members were supportive of my interests in public health ethics and empirical research in bioethics. Program provided opportunities for involvement in interesting research and teaching as graduate assistant. Other doctoral students in my program had interesting and varied backgrounds. This provided additional learning opportunities.
What factors contributed to your experience at SLU?
I had great mentorship at SLU – not only from my dissertation advisor but other faculty members as well. I was able to tailor coursework to my interests. I had many challenging research, teaching, and writing opportunities as graduate assistant.
How does your SLU education help you on your career path?
A PhD in Health Care Ethics (particularly the concentration in empirical research and my focus on research ethics) combined with my previous education/experience provides me with a variety of options to be involved in research and/or research administration in an academic setting.
Why would you recommend a student attend SLU?
Great faculty, great research opportunities.
