The Graduate School

George E. Reed

Education:

Ph.D. Public Policy Analysis and Administration, 2003

Work Experience:

Associate Professor in the Department of Leadership Studies in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego.

Why did you choose SLU for your graduate degree(s)?

Saint Louis University offers a high quality and interdisciplinary approach to policy studies that suited my interests and learning style. The professors were dedicated, supportive, and attentive.

What factors contributed to your experience at SLU?

Catholic higher education in general, and Saint Louis University in specific, do a masterful job of weaving ethics and concerns for social justice into the curriculum. Discussions with faculty members after class and the opportunity to interact with so many accomplished professionals contributed to a world-class educational experience.

How does your SLU education help you on your career path?

Saint Louis University prepared me well for the professoriate and provided the foundation for lifelong learning and a career in teaching and research. The faculty members who worked with me serve as an example that I have tried to emulate in my own teaching.

Why would you recommend a student attend SLU?

Saint Louis University is a contemplative oasis where the environment, curriculum, staff, and faculty are dedicated to learning and development.
