Grand Bridge Project Information
The Grand Boulevard Bridge - which connects Saint Louis University's Frost and Medical Center Campuses - is scheduled for replacement by the City of St. Louis in 2011-2012.
This site will serve as the central source for updates on the project and the University's efforts to minimize the disruption from the bridge's closure. Users will find helpful resources and information to help them manage the closure. Coming soon will be frequently asked questions for students, employees and visitors.
Members of the University community can e-mail GrandBridge@slu.edu to submit comments or suggestions to an ad-hoc committee of faculty, staff, administrators and students planning for the closure. The group includes representatives from academic units, athletics, the Commuter Student Association, public safety, the registrar's office, transportation services, student development, the Student Government Association and undergraduate admission.
The following is an update on the Grand Viaduct Project based upon information received from St. Louis City and Metro as of June 2012.
- The new Grand Viaduct is officially scheduled to open to limited traffic (one lane in each direction) on the morning of Saturday July 14, 2012. It is important to note that work on the bridge will continue after July 14, 2012 while limited traffic is allowed to use the new bridge.
- Late July/ Early August 2012: Metro stop at Grand may open
