The University Honors Program seeks applicants committed to academic excellence, leadership, and service. Therefore, we invite individuals who have achieved an un-weighted high school GPA of 3.8 AND an ACT composite score of 30 or an SAT score of 1330 to apply for admission to the Saint Louis University Honors Program when they apply for admission to SLU. Applicants also should have outstanding academic records in rigorous high school curricula. Please note that the Presidential Scholarship Program and the University Honors Program have separate application processes; applications for a Presidential Scholarship do not substitute for applications to the University Honors Program.
To be considered for admission to the University Honors Program, candidates must submit a complete application. A complete application consists of 3 components:
- The electronic application form
- A short (300 words) essay (included in the application form) addressing why the applicant wants to be in the University Honors Program and what she or he can contribute to the University Honors Program.
- 2 letters of recommendation. The letters of recommendation should comment not only on applicant's academic potential but also on the applicant's breadth of interests, commitment to academic excellence, and leadership potential. Letters of recommendation for the University Honors Program should be submitted with the general Saint Louis University admission application.
The University Honors Program also will review materials from a student's Application for Freshman Admission, including but not limited to the high school transcript, official test scores, and the secondary school report.
