The 2012 UOPE tool has been enhanced to allow the Department Reviewer to enter the division/department strategic goals for the whole division/department at one time. As a result, the supervisor will be able to select the entered goals from a drop down box for each employee rather than having to enter each goal for each individual performance evaluation. This enhancement will also provide consistency of goals across divisions/departments. The following are instructions for the new function:

  1. Open Banner Self-Service and click on the Employee Tab

  2. Click on University Online Performance Evaluation Menu

  3. Click on the Department-Maintain Department Goals link. This takes you to the Maintain Division/Department Goals for UOPE screen as shown below.

  4. You may be a Department Reviewer for one or multiple divisions/departments. Regardless, all department names will appear in the drop down menu under "Select Department." Select one division/department for which you wish to enter goals and click submit.


  5. Select Annual-2012 and it will take you to the screen where you can enter goal labels and goal descriptions.

    The Goal Label is a short “title” of the goal and has a limit of 80 characters. The goal description is the goal itself and has no character limit. Three (3) division/department goals are required. If you are a Department Reviewer for one division/department your screen will look like the single division/department screen shot shown below. If you are a Department Reviewer for more than one division/department your screen will look like the multiple division/department screen shot shown below.

  6. Multiple division/departments:



    Please note on both types of screen shots that all divisions/departments for which you are the Department Reviewer will appear after the check box and statement “Check if you want these goals to be applied to the following departments.”

  7. If you want the division/department goals to apply across all divisions/departments then follow these steps before entering each goal:

    1. Check the box “check if you want these goals to be applied to the following departments”
    2. Enter the goal label and goal description
    3. Click Save
    4. Click Add another
    5. Repeat a-d for each goal label/description

  8. If each division/department has separate goals then do the following for each division/department:

    1. Repeat steps 4 & 5 shown above
    2. Enter the goal label and goal description
    3. Click Save
    4. Click Add another
    5. Repeat a-d for each goal label/description

  9. *At any time, you can check the box to apply a particular goal to all divisions/departments. If you do not check the box, it will only apply the goal to the department selected. Corrections can be made by deleting text in any field and re-saving. The back arrow can be used as a shortcut to return to previous screens.

  10. Each Goal Label will now pull into the Division/Department goal drop down menu on the evaluation. Supervisors will be able to simply select the appropriate Goal Label from the list. The Goal Labels/Goal Descriptions will display in the Current Business Goals and Future Business Goals sections as shown in the screen shots below.
