The Integrated Advising and Mentoring System

The Integrated Advising and Mentoring System provides the structure that supports students through their academic careers at Saint Louis University. All advising units actively support students through a variety of methods and have a shared goal to enhance students' academic careers at SLU and beyond.

The System is made up of seven advising units representing the schools/colleges at SLU and four advising units representing special programs. Students are assigned to Academic Advisors and Faculty Mentors to assist with the decision-making process through their academic career.

The goals of the System are to:

  • Connect students to their academic communities by assigning Faculty Mentors and Academic advisors to each student
  • Facilitate an understanding of relevant academic policies and procedures
  • Support each student in assessing and pursuing his/her educational and career goals

The Student Outcomes for the decentralized Integrated Advising and Mentoring System focus on supporting the five dimensions of the Saint Louis University experience.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
