Saint Louis University Interdisciplinary Engineering Degree OverviewSaint Louis University's undergraduate degree in interdisciplinary engineering at Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology was created for students who are interested multiple engineering disciplines or in engineering and other disciplines. It allows you to define your study plan by combining traditional engineering areas (like electrical and mechanical engineering), science and engineering areas (such as chemistry, biology and electrical engineering), or areas of science or engineering with the arts and humanities (like electrical engineering and archeology, or computer engineering and theater).
In addition to the University's general admission and graduation requirements, Parks College engineering programs have additional academic requirements. The interdisciplinary degree program is also maintained at an honors-level and will only retain students who maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) at SLU. What You'll Learn in SLU's Interdisciplinary Engineering ProgramInterdisciplinary engineering students at SLU are not limited to pre-defined tracks. Instead, you will work closely with a faculty mentor work to identify a career goal, build a career plan and define a unique study plan. You will also define a focus area that will be the topic of your senior thesis.
If you choose to major in interdisciplinary engineering at SLU, you will work closely with faculty members and may even have the opportunity to publish your research findings in journals. You will also be able to participate in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience, which allows students to study specific topics of interest under the direction of a faculty member, while receiving a stipend.
