The 2016 Central Slavic Conference will be held

A section of this year's conference will be devoted to marking the 60th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.

We are pleased to announce the conference keynote address:

"Hungary,1956: Revolution or Counterrevolution? The Continuing Relevance of the Debate"
Nyirkos Tamás, Pazmany Peter Catholic University, Budapest


The conference will be held on campus at Saint Louis University (SLU) under the sponsorship of the Center for International Studies and the Russian and East European Area Studies Program.

CSC registration will take place in advance and on-site at the conference. The registration fees are as follows:

$50 for faculty, $25 for students, payable by check in advance or on-site by cash, check, or credit/debit card.

We do not currently have the ability to securely accept credit/debit cards for advance payment.

Registration will begin Friday morning; directions and other information will be available in arrival packets at the Missouri Athletic Club at check-in.


All CSC participants are encouraged to stay at the conference hotel, the Missouri Athletic Club, located in the heart of downtown St. Louis, which offers a great location and the amenities of its historic clubhouse, including free Wi-Fi and extensive athletic facilities.

Flying or driving to the conference location is convenient. Air travelers can get to the MAC and the SLU campus area by taxi, airport shuttle, or Metrolink light rail from Lambert International Airport.
