If your telephone number begins with 977, please call the IT Service Desk at 314-977-4000 to place telephone move/add/change/repair requests. NOTE: If your telephone number begins with 577 or 268, please call 314-577-8000 for move/add/change/repair requests.

Please have the following information ready before contacting the IT Service Desk.

For moving an existing phone:

  • Telephone number
  • Building name and room number (for both old and new locations)
  • Jack number (for both old and new locations) - If a jack is not available at the new location, additional charges for a jack installation will apply.

For adding a phone

  • Building name and room number (for new location)
  • Jack number (new location) - If a jack is not available at the new location, additional charges for a jack installation will apply.
  • Type of instrument
  • Type of handset - This can be found on the bottom of your phone. The model/type starts with an M and is a 4 digit number (i.e. M2616, M3902, M3904)

For changes:

  • Location of telephone to be changed (building name, room number, jack number)
  • Type of handset - This can be found on the bottom of your phone. The model/type starts with an M and is a 4 digit number (i.e. M2616, M3902, M3904)

For repairs:

  • Contact the IT Service Desk via 314-977-4000 or helpdesk@slu.edu to submit a repair order. 
  • If a phone cannot be repaired by SLU's on-site AT&T technician, it must be replaced. 
  • Our staff can assist you with:
    • Forgotten voice mail passwords
    • No dial tone (Check that your phone is plugged in to the correct phone jack.)
    • Static (You may need a new telephone cord - ITS staff can help determine the likely cause of the static.)  

To estimate the cost of your add, move, change or repair, please review our Services and Equipment Charges. This cost must be verified by the ITS telephone services department after submitting your request (by calling 314-977-4000) and prior to sending the IDO.

Requests for moves, adds, changes and repairs will be scheduled once the request has been reviewed and our department has received the Interdepartmental Order (IDO) with an authorized signature. IDOs should be sent to:
