Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service is seeking applicants for a tenure track appointment, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice and a secondary appointment in the Center for Intercultural Studies to begin fall 2013. We are looking to hire a socio-cultural anthropologist and the subareas are open, but the Department and Center have research interests in intercultural studies, health/medicine, urban, immigration and environmental sustainability. The successful candidate will have expertise in theory and methodology and a willingness and ability to teach a graduate level theory and/or methodology course. Position responsibilities include conducting and publishing research, teaching graduate and undergraduate anthropology courses and helping to build a dynamic anthropology program and contribute to an intercultural center. A Ph.D. is required at the time of the appointment. The Sociology and Criminal Justice department is interdisciplinary with 16 full-time faculty positions, including 3 anthropologists, 200 undergraduate majors, an MA program, and is a thriving part of a doctoral/research extensive university.
